ASTANA. February 14. KAZINFORM." As the OIC chairman Kazakhstan may bridge the West and East," the US President's Special Envoy to OIC Rashad Hussain told a briefing following the talks with Secretary of State - Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev.

"Kazakhstan has a great opportunity to bridge the West and East, particularly, taking into account Kazakhstan's experience as the OSCE Chairman-in-Office. The OSCE is mainly represented by the European states. And now Kazakhstan will preside over the Organization of Islamic Conference, a club of Muslim states," Rashad Hussain added.

During the meeting the parties discussed the priority directions Kazakhstan has outlined as the OEC chair, including issues of freedom of faith, cooperation with Afghanistan, protection of rights of the religious.
