Kazakhstan's economy to increase 6.5 percent in 2011: Troika Dialog Kazakhstan

ALMATY. March 11. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan's gross domestic product will increase 6.5 percent in 2011, according to a Troika Dialog Kazakhstan forecast released Thursday.

"According to our estimates, Kazakhstan's economy will grow 6.5 percent this year, which is more optimistic than the official outlook (5 percent)," the forecast said.

Economic growth in Kazakhstan in 2010 was 7 percent, driven mainly by rising consumption and increasing exports. Investment activity, meanwhile, was sluggish.

"We expect that the pace of consumption will slow down this year, while the investment activity will recover moderately," the forecast said.

According to Xinhua,Troika Dialog Kazakhstan, founded in 2007, provides brokerage and investment management services.
