Kazakhstan's birth rates to drop by 2015

ASTANA. April 6. KAZINFORM Kazakh Statistics Agency predicts decline in birth rates in the country by 2015.  

"The birth rate is defined as the total number of live births per 1000 women aged 15 to 49 years. During 1991-2002 the total fertility rate dropped from 2.7 to 1.9. The lowest rate was recorded in 1999. in 2011 the aggregate birth rate increased to make half as much as in 1999," head of the Agency Alikhan Smailov told.

"For the past three more that 6 mln people were born the countrywide, the natural increase made 3 mln," he added.
