Kazakhstan, Russia discuss future of space coop

ASTANA. June 8. KAZINFORM The Kazakh-Russian top-level negotiations on the state and prospects of cooperation in the space sphere were carried out on Thursday (June 7) in Astana within the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin.  

According to press service of the Kazakh President, both leaders commended many years' experience of successful cooperation in the space sector and joint use of Baikonur Space Center.

The heads of states agreed it was necessary to improve legal base of Baikonur joint use and instructed the Kazakh and Russian space agencies to develop a new bilateral agreement regulating the use of the space center and providing creation of joint rocket stations, and staff training.
