Kazakhstan, Monaco sign agr’t on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Askhat Daulbayev has made a working visit to the Principality of Monaco.

Kazakh Prosecutor General held meetings with the Chairman of the Council of State, the Chief Justice, and the Justice Minister of the Principality of Monaco Philip Narmina. Philip Narmina and Askhat Daulbayev have discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of combating crime, money laundering, proceeds of crime, law and order, as well as international security. According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office the round table resulted in signing of the interstate agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Principality of Monaco on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters. The treaty has been concluded to implement the Joint Declaration adopted at the meeting of the President of Kazakhstan with the Prince Albert II of Monaco in 2012. The two heads of states agreed to work together to strengthen international security. The parties noted with satisfaction that the agreements reached are designed to strengthen cooperation between law enforcement agencies of the two countries. The documents make an important contribution to the protection of constitutional rights and legitimate interests of citizens of Kazakhstan and Monaco. As noted the head of the main supervisory authority of Kazakhstan, for our country this was another important step on the path to convergence with the European community. In conclusion the two sides talked over further steps needed to implement the agreement and stressed the importance of coordinated actions to prevent and combat transnational organized crime.
