ASTANA. April 11. KAZINFORM /Zhanna Korkitova/ Today in Astana at the Gumilyov Eurasian National University Ambassador of Hungary to Kazakhstan Imre Laszlóczki told the students about the country's foreign policy and relations with Kazakhstan.

The meeting is a part of the initiative "A Bridge of Friendship between the EU and ENU" started last year.

The report consisted of three parts devoted to the Hungary's foreign policy, Hungary's chairmanship in the EU Council; and bilateral relations between Hungary and Kazakhstan.

"Kazakhstan and Hungary enjoy good bilateral relations for the countries have common historic and cultural roots. I would like to today to address the students to explore these areas to study and prove affinity of the nations," the Ambassador told.

As reported earlier, the initiative "A Bridge of Friendship between the EU and ENU" started on 24 November 2010 with a first conference by Ambassador Norbert Jousten, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Kazakhstan. As of today, the Ambassadors of the following EU Member States delivered their speeches: Latvia, Slovakia, Greece, Spain, Germany, Finland and Czech Republic. The following Heads of Missions confirmed that they will give their lecture during the current academic year: Sweden, the United Kingdom, Romania, Lithuania, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Poland. The lectures are on various aspects of life in the European Union and its Member States.
