Kazakhstan eyes Brazil as perspective partner

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil Bakytzhan Ordabayev participated in the swearing-in ceremony of re-elected Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, Kaziform has learnt from the Kazakh MFA's press service.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, Ambassador Ordabayev had a couple of meetings with Brazilian officials. For instance, he met with Vice President of Brazil Michel Temer in order to present him the letter of congratulations from Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev addressed to Brazilian leader Dilma Rousseff. The sides briefly discussed perspective bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Brazil. Mr. Temer, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the letter to Kazakhstani diplomat and wished all the best to President Nazarbayev and prosperity to the people of Kazakhstan. Ambassador Ordabayev also had a brief meeting with newly appointed Brazilian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Vieira and former Brazilian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Figereido. The parties touched upon bilateral cooperation between the two countries, priorities of Kazakhstani foreign policy and Kazakhstan's bid to the non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2017-2018.
