Kazakhstan established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Kiribati and the Republic of Vanuatu

ASTANA. KAZINFORM On 19 February, 2014, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Vanuatu established diplomatic relations by signing a joint communiqué in Singapore.

From Kazakhstan's side, the document was signed by Ambassador to Singapore Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Vanuatu Edward Nipake Natapei signed the communiqué from Vanuatu's side. During the meeting, the sides discussed prospective cooperation in various spheres, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry's press release reads. A day earlier, on 18 February, Permanent Representatives of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Kiribati to the UN in New York Kairat Abdrakhmanov and Makurita Baaro signed a joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states. During the ceremony of signing, the diplomats exchanged views on prospective bilateral cooperation and important issues of the United Nations agenda, which are important for Kazakhstan and Kiribati. Among the discussed issues were - solving problems of landlocked countries, small island states, achieving Goals of sustainable development, environment protection, etc. Kiribati Ambassador expressed her hope for establishing solid partnership with Kazakhstan.
