Kazakhstan Embassy in Russia held a meeting with World War II veterans

MOSCOW. May 8. KAZINFORM - On the eve of the 68th anniversary of the Great Victory in the residence of the Embassy of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation Galym Orazbakov, the head of the diplomatic mission, carried out a traditional meeting with the Kazakhstani veterans.

Among the guests were the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, the heads of ministries and departments of the Kazakh Soviet Socialistic Republic, prominent statesmen and public figures of Kazakhstan currently living in Russia.

The special event began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War. G.Orazbakov told about the work carried out by the embassy to perpetuate the memory of Kazakhstani soldiers. The head of the diplomatic mission also congratulated attendants on the occasion of Kazakhstan's national holiday - the Day of Defender of the Motherland and the upcoming Victory Day.

"Today we are meeting with veterans those who have lived for many years and worked in Kazakhstan, who gave their strength and knowledge for the development of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic, now the Republic of Kazakhstan. Kazakh people know you and remember you with gratitude”, said G.Orazbakov. He added that their role in the life of the Motherland has been largely determined by the personal attitude of Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The veterans emphasized the importance of holding such meetings especially for the education of the younger generation. The work of the diplomatic mission in preserving the memory of the Kazakhstan's contribution to the achievement of the Great Victory was positively mentioned and there was expressed the wish to continue the tradition of regular meetings with representatives of Kazakhstan.

In the course of the event the creative teams of Kazakh students performed the battlefield songs.
