Kazakhstan and Belarus to move to through traffic without permissions

ASTANA. KAZINFORM At today's plenary session the Kazakh Majilis approved the draft law "On ratification of the Protocol on amendments to the Agreement between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Belarus on the international highroad service as of January 19, 2004".

"The highroad services between the two countries are based now on permits. The protocol submitted foresees establishing a system without any licensing procedures," Vice Minister of Investments and Development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kassymbek said presenting the bill. According to him, competent agencies of the two countries will issue permits to effect.transportations from or to third countries.

9,000 out of 12,000 of shipments by car to Europe and from Europe pass through Belarus.
