ASTANA. August 20. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan aims to get into the top ten at the XIV Summer Paralympic Games in London, deputy chairman of the Kazakh Agency for Sports and Physical Culture Elsiyar Kanagatov said Monday.

According to him, Kazakhstan has delegated a record number of participants, seven athletes to the Paralympic Games. The country will be represented by swimmers Anuar Akhmetov and Zulfiya Gabidullina, athletes Islam Salimov, Aynur Bayduldayeva and Sergei Kharlamov, and Aibek Abzhan and Kabir Askarova (powerlifting). Competitions will be held on the same sports facilities which hosted the XXX Summer Olympics.

According to Kanagatov, the Government of Kazakhstan instructed to award 50 thousand dollars to gold medal winners, 35 thousand dollars to silver medalists, and 25 thousand dollars for those winning bronze. Athletes who win the fourth place will get 14 thousand dollars, the fifth place - $6000, and the sixth place - $ 4000 dollars.

The Summer Paralympic Games 2012 will be held from August 29 to September 9. More than four thousand athletes will compete in 20 sports. Kazakh sportsmen leave for London on August 22.
