Kazakhstan aims to expand cooperation with ILO - Labor Minister

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - A delegation of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan participated in the 103rd session of the International Labor Conference held in Geneva.

The session was attended by about four thousand delegates from 185 member countries including an official delegation of Kazakhstan. The Kazakh delegation was represented by MPs, employers' organizations and trade unions. Minister of Labor and Social Protection Tamara Duisenova, speaking at the conference, noted the relevance and importance of the issues ensuring fair migration policies, strengthening measures against forced labor and creation of quality jobs. She also informed the delegates about the Kazakh model of state regulation of labor and employment. During the visit, T. Duisenova held several meetings with ILO Director-General G. Ryder, the new ILO regional director for Europe and Central Asia H. Koller, General Secretary of the International Trade Union Conference S. Barrow, as well as labor ministers of other participating countries. They discussed issues of cooperation in modernization of pension system, and implementation of full employment policy.
