ASTANA. November 11. KAZINFORM - Last weekend in Astana a famous Kazakhstan skater Denis Ten held a master class for students of figure skating and visited children in the SOS Children's Village.

Master classes have already become traditional: in his every visit to his homeland Denis tries to make time for it to share the skill with young athletes, informs the press-service of "Samruk- Kazyna" JSC, the general sponsor of the corporate fund «SOS Children's Villages of Kazakhstan".

"In figure skating it is very important to have the right base. With each new meeting I see the progress of children. All of them are incredibly talented. We need to pay particular attention to activities that do not only motivate, but the ones that really teach something. I trained with the best coaches in the world, and I have a lot to share with the children. I appreciate this knowledge, and for me it is very important to use it correctly", said Denis.

Then he went to the Children's Village, where he was expected not only by the students of SOS Children's Village of Astana, but the children from the project to strengthen the family and the members of the project "I am concerned!" from the children's homes.

The athlete described his first steps on the ice rinks at yard of Almaty, as at age of 10 he left to train in Moscow at the invitation of the Soviet figure skater Elena Vodorezova and how the path to victory was not easy.

"In order to achieve something, you need lots and lots of work. To be smart, you have to learn every day. To run fast, you have to exercise every day. I spent 15 years on the ice to win the silver medal at the World Championships. Maybe I did not have a childhood, like many, somewhere I could not get to go to the movies, take a walk with friends, but this is my childhood. What you sacrifice today, be sure tou will be given tomorrow. To get something, you have to pay for this work", sDeni shared the secret.

In conclusion, the athlete gave the children a book about the people that the whole country is proud of, and are able to achieve extraordinary success through their personal qualities. In turn, the guys presented to Denis the origami swan with the wishes of new victories.

In Kazakhstan the skater will hold a couple of days and would go to Italy for the competition, and then he continues to prepare for the Olympic Games in Sochi.

Denis Ten is Kazakhstan's first athlete to win a medal at the World Figure Skating Championships. At the World Championships in 2013 in London (Canada) Denis Ten finished second.
