Kazakh regions urged to use transit capacity to full potential

AKTOBE. December 21. KAZINFORM The new state-of -the-nation address by the Head of State "Kazakshtan-2050" Strategy says the implementation of a number of large national infrastructure projects will double through traffic in Kazakhstan by 2020. The document also promises an ambitious '10fold increase' of this rate by 2050.

Aktobe region that boasts huge transit potential should use all the possibilities for economic growth, its governor Arkhimed Mukhambetov thinks.

"As you may know, a lot of transnational projects in transport and railway sector relate to our region. Given its favorable geographic position and transit potential, we should embrace this opportunity to boost economic growth of the region," the governor said.

He also added that governors of the regions and rural districts where the traffic flows lie should set up service centers or companies to provide services to roads' users.
