Kazakh Prosecutor General meets US Leaders of federal law enforcement bodies

ASTANA. December 4. KAZINFORM - During the visit of the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Askhat Daulbayev to the United States, the District of Columbia (Washington), he has held a meeting with the heads of federal law enforcement bodies, according to the press service of the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan.

The round table with the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) James Komi discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral legal cooperation in combating terrorism and extremism, transnational organized crime, drug trafficking, cybercrime and legalization of illegally gained income. The sides exchanged views on the issues of training and retraining as well as organizing and conducting forensic and polygraph investigations.

Attorney General spoke about the main activities of the Kazakh prosecutors, the steps taken to ensure law and order, stressing that the protection of human rights in criminal proceedings is the subject of special attention of prosecutors. Following the meeting Daulbayev invited Komi to visit Kazakhstan. In addition the Prosecutor General attended the Washington police station, the FBI Academy in Quantico as well as the Drug Enforcement Federal Agency.

The district police officers demonstrated achievements in the fight against terrorism and street crime as well as the system of operation control center. Daulbayev held a round table with the Director of the Drug Enforcement Federal Agency Michelle Leonhard during which the parties exchanged information on the progress of fight against drug trafficking and expressed their willingness to deepen cooperation and joint efforts on combating transnational organized crime.

The visit also scheduled meeting with the Attorney General - U.S. Minister of Justice Eric Holder.
