Kazakh President visited Islamic Culture University Nur-Mubarak in Almaty

TANA. October 22. KAZINFORM Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited the dendrological park in Almaty on Saturday. Almaty Mayor Akhmetzhan Yessimov informed the President of the plans to develop park areas in the city; Kazinform has learnt from the presidential press service.

Nazarbayev also visited the Islamic Culture University Nur-Mubarak. The University trains highly qualified imams, Islamists, religious scholars, translators, Arabic language translators. Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan Absattar Kazhy Derbisali and Rector of the University Mahmoud Fahmy Hijazi showed the President the conference hall, lecture rooms, computer and language labs. Nazarbayev also spoke with students and teachers.

"The purpose of the university is to train our own specialists who will work in Kazakhstani mosques. Studying Islam you should not forget about the ancient history and rich traditions of our people. You should know the history, culture, literature and philosophy. When you will finish training, you will work in the mosques in all regions of Kazakhstan, and you need to explain to people how important are unity, peace and harmony for our society," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
