ASTANA. January 31. KAZINFORM. Citizens of Kazakhstan initiating an idea of holding a referendum on the eve of the 20th anniversary of country's independence follow the ideology of political result-oriented pragmatism, Kazakh Secretary of State-Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev told at the meeting held in Akorda under the chairmanship of President Nursultan Nazarbayev on January 28.

"Independence let us build our own state. It became a factor of consolidation and unity of the people who are confident in their future. Year after year we understand more and more the country's sovereignty laid the foundation for all our achievements. Kazakhstan becomes a modern, competent state that is successfully implementing large-scale reforms in all spheres," Mr Saudabayev told commenting on the Action Plan for marking the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence.
