Kazakh museums called to preserving basic values of society, Mynbai

ASTANA. KAZINFORM "The historical-cultural museums of Kazakhstan are called to preserve and pass the core values of our society to the new generations," director of the National Museum of Kazakhstan Darkhan Mynbai said today taking the floor at the international conference in Astana.

"Cultural integration is a global process of rapprochement of national cultures and values, strengthening of cultural, communication and civilization ties during which achievements of science and arts, new forms of social and political activities spread quickly and are absorbed in the modern world forming its integrity," he noted. According to him, museum is a multifunctional institute of social memory that realizes social need in selection, preservation, representation of specific groups, nature and cultural sites perceived in the society as a value subject to passing from generation to generation," he stressed.
