TANA. October 11. KAZINFORM Kazakh-Moroccan inter-foreign ministry consultations were held on October 6-8 in Rabat; Kazakh MFA's press service told Kazinform.

Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Kairat Sarybai told about Kazakhstan's achievements during 20 years of independence in social and economic, foreign policy spheres, in particular the initiatives as part of Kazakhstan's OIC presidency.

Mrs. Latifa Akharbach, Moroccan Secretary of State to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed gratitude to the Kazakh government for warm reception of the Moroccan delegation at the 38th meeting of OIC Foreign Ministers' Council. She praised Kazakhstan's success in socio-economic field for 20 years of independence.

Latifa Akharbach noted that the Moroccan side considered Kazakhstan as its key political and trade partner in the Central Asian region. In this regard, Morocco proposes to expand the legal base for the development of specific areas of mutual cooperation.

As a result of the consultations the two sides signed a memorandum.

Later K. Sarybai also met with Moroccan Minister of Culture Bensalem Himmich, Director General of Morocco Investment Development Agency Fathallah Sijilmassi, and heads of Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), which had its headquarters in Rabat.
