Kazakh delegation participated in Nowruz celebrations in Tehran

ASTANA. April 1. KAZINFORM The second annual meeting of the leaders of the oriental countries on the occasion of Nowruz, declared by the UN resolution as of February 18, 2010 as international day, convened in Tehran.

Delegations from 30 countries, including presidents of Iran, Armenia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan participated in the solemn meeting. A delegation, led by deputy chairman of the Kazakh Majilis Zhanibek Karibzhanov, represented Kazakhstan.

During the talks with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad head of the Kazakh delegation thanked for high-level organization of Nowruz emphasizing that at the dawn of Kazakhstan's independence Nursultan Nazarbayev included Nowruz into the calendar as a public holiday.
