Kazakh citizens in Azerbaijan to vote at presidential elections

ASTANA. March 24. KAZINFORM Kazakh citizens, temporarily living in the territory of Azerbaijan, will be able to vote at the polling station created under the Kazakh diplomatic office in Baku on the day of the Kazakh presidential elections, First Secretary of the Kazakh Embassy in Azerbaijan Yerlan Abishev told Trend.

The presidential elections will be held in Kazakhstan on April 3.

Kazakh citizens, living or staying on the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic, may use their right to vote at the polling station No 140 at the Kazakh embassy in Azerbaijan. It is situated in house 8, passage 15, Hasan Aliyev st., Baku from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

One must have documents confirming the citizenship of Kazakhstan.

About 200 citizens of the country have been registered by the consulate under the Kazakh embassy to Azerbaijan, the diplomat said.

According to Trend, in early February Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a decree on "Holding extraordinary presidential elections in Kazakhstan". According to it, the snap presidential elections will be held on April 3, 2011.

Four candidates passed registration at the Kazakh Central Election Commission (CEC) and will continue to struggle in the early presidential elections scheduled for April 3. The candidates are Nursultan Nazarbayev, Communist Zhambyl Ahmetbekov, and Leader of the Patriots' Party, Senator Gani Kassymov and Tabigyat Ecological Union leader Mels Yeleussizov.
