Kazakh-Chinese business council to meet for first time within Xi Jinping's visit to Astana

BEIJING. August 29. KAZINFORM The first session of the Kazakh-Chinese Business Council is set to be held within the framework of the first state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Kazakhstan.

This information has been confirmed by Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to China Nurlan Yermekbayev during an online conference.

According to the Kazakh diplomat, Xi Jinping is coming to Kazakhstan on invitation of Kazakh leader Nursultan Nazarbayev on September 6-8. "This is the first visit of President Jinping to Kazakhstan in his new capacity. It is of paramount political, historical and economic importance," the envoy stressed.

In his words, the sides are expected to conduct top-level negotiations, arrange a number of events, for instance, the session of the Kazakh-Chinese Business Council. The corresponding agreement on the establishment of the council was inked during Nazarbayev's visit to China this April. "The first session of the business council will focus on the issues of commercial and economic cooperation. A range of agreements are to be signed," Mr. Yermekbayev added.

The leaders of Kazakhstan and China are believed to exchange their views on the pressing issues of international agenda. Xi Jinping is also to deliver a keynote speech at the Nazarbayev University during his three-day visit to the Kazakh capital.

"I hope the Chinese President's visit will facilitate the development of good neighborhood and friendly relations between Kazakhstan and China," the Kazakh ambassador concluded.
