EVENTS

The Republic of Kazakhstan and the Commonwealth of Australia exchanged notes on the establishment of the diplomatic relations in 1992. First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev paid his first official visit to Australia in December 1996.

In 1999, the Monument to outstanding heroes of the Kazakh people Karasai Batyr and Agyntai Batyr was unveiled in Petropavlovsk, North Kazakhstan region.

In 2013, the book First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. Global Leader was released in the Turkish language. It is filled with unique articles and essays depicting the history of Kazakhstan's development through the eyes of Turkish statesmen and academicians.

The Great Silk Road became one of the World Heritage Sites listed by UNESCO in 2014. The first joint bid of Kazakhstan, China, and Kyrgyzstan was approved at the 38th Session of the World Heritage Committee in Doha, Qatar. The bid included 33 historical monuments located along the Great Silk Road.

The end of the negotiations on Kazakhstan's accession to the World Trade Organization was officially declared during the final meeting of the Working Group in Geneva in 2015. Kazakhstan became the 162nd Member of the WTO.

In 2016, Kazakhstani Batykhan Daulet was named the Student of the Year 2016 at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology in the Republic of Korea.
