The Kazakh State Philharmonic Hall was established on this day in 1935. Three years later, it was named after Zhambyl who served as a source of inspiration for many Kazakh musical pieces and poems.

In 1992, the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics and Strategic Research (KIMEP) was officially established in Almaty city. President Nazarbayev appointed Dr. Chan-Young Bang as the institute's first executive director. KIMEP's key mission is to facilitate the nation's prosperity through education and development of leadership skills of Kazakhstanis.

The Kazakh State University was renamed as the Al-Farabi Kazakh State National University in 1993.

The Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was set up in 1994.

Minsk, the capital city of Belarus, named one of its streets after Kazakh writer Mukhtar Auezov in 1998.

The Moscow-based publishing house Russkiy raritet published a collection of the best works of Kazakh akyn and poet Zhambyl Zhabayev on this day in 2006.

In 2010, the Almaty boys' choir Isker won grand prize of the international music and dance festival in Lloret de Mar, Spain.

Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev honored Russian choreographer and art director of the Saint Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theater Boris Eifman for his contribution to strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and Russia in 2012.

Pianist Khadisha Onalbayeva became the first Kazakhstani to be honored with the Steinway Artist title in 2013. Only over 1,600 artists in the world have the Steinway Artist title. Khadisha's portrait is displayed in the Steinway gallery in NYC.

Performers of the Kazakh Association of the Deaf won the second place at the international competition in Spain in 2015. Birzhan Abdirashitov, Alina Alexeyeva, Aminam Usmanova, Yerzhan Duissembiyev, Duman Zhakanbayev and Maria Lonshakova received diplomas by an international jury.

In 2017, nine historical monuments of Kyzylorda region were featured into the Tentative list of the UNESCO World Heritage, namely the medieval sites of Syganak, Zhankent, Kesken-kuyuk, Chirik Rabat, and mausoleums of Balandy, Babish mola and more.

In 2018, Kazakhstani Moldir Mekenbayeva claimed gold at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu Jitsu World Cup.
