Islam Karimov arrived in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. September 6. KAZINFORM President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, 1st Vice Premier of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov and Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov have met at the Astana International Airport President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov who has arrived in Astana for an official visit.

As earlier reported, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov pays an official visit to Kazakhstan at the invitation of President Nursultan Nazarbayev on September 6-7.

The Presidents are expected to have bilateral talks to debate pressing issues of bilateral cooperation and cooperation within international organizations.

A joint statement of the Heads of State will be adopted following the results of the visit. Besides, the sides will sign a number of bilateral documents.

The meeting is purposed to strengthen further the level of bilateral ties, advance full-scale cooperation and focus on a wide range of urgent issues.  

The volume of mutual trade between the two countries reached USD 1.95 bln in 2011 that is 24% more against 2010.
