TEHRAN. May 9. KAZINFORM Managing Director of Iranian Kaveh Marine and Port Services (KMS) Hadi Karimi said Sunday that the company has started a joint venture with Kenya to transit grain from Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to the Middle East region, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

According to Xinhua, the cooperation will turn Iran's southern port city of Bandar Imam into a hub for the transit of grain, Karimi was quoted as saying.

"The partnership with the Kenyan side is aimed at importing wheat from the Commonwealth of Independent States' members, such as Kazakhstan and Russia, through railway and road links to Bandar Imam and redistributing it in the region," Karimi told Fars.

The report did not elaborate further about the details of the cooperation.
