Investment in fixed assets in food and processing industry to reach KZT 97 bn by 2019

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Under the program "Development of the Food Industry in Kazakhstan in 2015-2019" investment in fixed assets in the food and processing industry will increase threefold to 97 billion tenge, according to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

In addition, it is expected that thanks to the implementation of the program the volume of food production will increase by 30% to 1.3 trillion tenge, according to the website of the Prime Minister. It is also planned to reduce food imports 3 times to 1.3 billion tenge. The number of people employed in the food industry will increase to 68 thousand people, while at present there are 52 thousand people employed in the industry.

The foreign trade turnover of processed agricultural products and food products amounted to 4.2 billion tenge in 2013.
