Information-communicational development – important part of “Intellectual school – 2020” project: N.Nazarbayev

MINSK. November 30. KAZINFORM /Yernur Akanbay/ "Development of the information-communicational sphere in Kazakhstan is an important part of the national project "Intellectual Nation - 2020", Kazakh President said at the international summit on informational and communicational technologies held in Minsk.

"We connected all schools to the Internet and conducted big work on increase of the computer literacy rate of the population. Less then in five years the number of Internet users in Kazakhstan increased from two to 30%", N.Nazarbayev said.

The Head of the State noted that modern teaching methods by means of information technologies are introduced, educational portals are established, and methods of distant education are introduced in the country.

N.Nazarbayev noted that opening of the International University of Astana is planned on July 1 next year. Engineering and technical personnel of the world class including specialists in the field of information technologies will be educated there.
