Huge Barys Arena under construction in Astana (PHOTOS)

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Construction of a large multifunctional indoor Barys ice arena is in full swing on the left bank of Astana city, Kazinform has learnt from hcbarys.kz.

The arena gets its name from the home team - HC Barys Astana, based in Kazakhstan's capital. The arena is situated along Turan Avenue, which is one of the busiest streets in Astana. Total capacity of the ice palace in ice hockey games will be 12,000 (all seats). It will also have a practice arena and two swimming pools. The arena that has no analogues in CIS is expected to be finished and host sports events in 2016.
