House fire kills 4yo in N Kazakhstan region

PETROPAVLOVSK. KAZINFORM - House fire in Novotroitskoye village of North Kazakhstan region killed a 4-year-old girl, according to the regional Emergency Department.

The tragedy took place March 17. Sister and brother, aged 4 and 3, were in the house alone. This day the children did not go to a kindergarten because they were ill. Three other children were at school. Father of the kids was at work and their mother went to a store. Later the woman explained that she was absent only for about 30 minutes. When she returned the house was filled with smoke. The woman managed to save her 3-year-old son. She did not find her daughter in the house due to heavy smoke. Fire area was 72 square meters. Extinguishing the fire firefighters discovered fragments of the child's body. 3-year-old boy, saved by his mother, was hospitalized with carbon monoxide poisoning and burns of the upper respiratory tract.
