French surgeon recovers 7yo boy's hearing in Almaty

ALMATY. KAZINFORM Jean-Pierre Bébéar, Professor at the Medical University Bordeaux of France, made a free hearing restoration surgery in Almaty.

Two years ago seven-year-old Yegor was diagnosed with bilateral perceptive hearing loss (deafness). Today the French doctor has installed him a cochlear implant, a device that helps improve the hearing ability. The surgery was a success. Doctors promise the boy achieve 100 per cent speech understanding after rehabilitation which may take one or two years.
