Flood alert issued in southern Kazakhstan

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Beginning from 23 March Kazhydromet declares flood alert.

In connection with the forecast of heavy rainfall in the lowland rivers of South Kazakhstan region tonight and March 24 formation of floods is expected. On lowland rivers of Almaty and Zhambyl regions 24 March formation of melt-water is expected, according to the Committee for Emergency Situations of the Kazakh Ministry of Internal Affairs.
