European Investment Bank interested in investing into Kazakhstan's projects

BRUSSELS. May 4. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ "The European Investment Bank (EIB) is interested in strategic partnership with Kazakhstan and investing into the country's significant projects, particularly, in the sphere of the climate change," said EIB President Philippe Maystadt during the meeting with Kazakh Ambassador to Belgium and Luxemburg, Head of the Kazakhstan Mission to the EU and NATO Yerik Utembayev.

The EIB President and Kazakh diplomat shared views on the current projects submitted for the experts' approval. Philippe Maystadt underlined the intention to sign a number of contracts with Kazakhstan till the year-end that would give an impetus for active participation of the bank in the country's investment sector.

The parties stressed the need to elaborate a Road Map between Kazakhstan and the EIB pursuant to the initiative of Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev.

According to Utembayev, cooperation with the EIB is a particular important strand of the country's investment policy. In the light of the forthcoming round of talks between Kazakhstan and EC on development of a new Agreement on partnership the intense cooperation of Kazakhstan and the EIB would efficiently promote realization of the economic block of this document.
