EurAsEC Interstate Council to meet in Minsk on 15 March

MINSK. March 10. KAZINFORM A session of the EurAsEC Interstate Council (the Customs Union supreme body) will take place in Minsk on 15 March with the participation of the heads of government. The Belarusian capital is also to host a session of the Union State Council of Ministers on the same day, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian government.

According to the Foreign Ministry of Belarus, Kazakhstan Premier is expected to arrive in Belarus on 14 March, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin - on 15 March.

According to State Secretary of the State Union Pavel Borodin, the issues of fuel and energy complex, trade and economic cooperation will highlight the agenda of the forthcoming session of the Union State Council of Ministers. Thirty-nine issues have been chosen for discussion so far. "29 of them are ready. They include trade and economic cooperation, financial, loan and price policies, fuel and energy complex and new production programs," Pavel Borodin said. The session will also focus on an array of social issues. "I believe almost of the issues planned for discussion will be considered," Pavel Borodin added.

According to BelTA, he stressed that the previous session of the Union State Council of Ministers in Moscow in October 2010 was held in a businesslike and pragmatic atmosphere. Pavel Borodin expressed hope that the upcoming meeting would be productive as well.
