EurAsEC Court and CIS Economic Court should cooperate closely with national courts, Kamenkov says

MINSK.  January 31. KAZINFORM  The Court of the Eurasian Economic Community and the Economic Court of the CIS should cooperate closely with the national courts, Chairman of the Supreme Economic Court of Belarus Viktor Kamenkov told reporters.

Neither the EurAsEC Court nor the CIS Economic Court are competitors to the economic court because they are the international courts which operate within their own terms of reference," Viktor Kamenkov said.

According to BelTA, international courts should work more closely with national ones, believes Viktor Kamenkov. "First of all, we must develop a common judicial practice; otherwise it may happen that national courts would consider disputes following their own rules and international ones international treaty rules. This will benefit no one. This will hurt the economies of the countries," Viktor Kamenkov said.
