EU express hope that elections in Kazakhstan to be conducted in accordance with international standards, Latvian FM

BRUSSELS. KAZINFORM - March 2-3 the current year Kazakhstan's delegation chaired by Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov conducted a visit to Brussels to partake in the 14th meeting of "Kazakhstan - European Union" Cooperation Council.

European Union expresses hope that the presidential elections in Kazakhstan will be carried out in accordance with international standards and in the presence of international observers, this has been said by Edgars Rinkēvičs, Foreign Minister of Latvia. According to his words, Kazakhstan is to decide when to hold presidential elections. This is not an issue of the European Union or third states. "This is absolutely an internal affair of Kazakhstan," said Mr. Rinkēvičs. "I would like to note that internal political processes should not in any way affect the EU-Kazakhstan relations," concluded Mr. Rinkēvičs.
