ALMATY. KAZINFORM ЭThe European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has invested USD 6,1 mln in Kazakhstan from 1994 through 2013," Hans Peter Lankes , Acting Vice President, told Friday the II international investment forum AlmatyInvest 2014.

"The EBRD Kazakhstan staff numbers 60 people. Initially, we invested mainly in the energy sector projects. Currently, we channel investments into the municipal sector, urban infrastructure and pharmaceuticals,Э he added. Last month the EBRD lent USD 200 mln to the private oil and gas company. As stated there, it is the EBRD's largest loan ever. Besides, the bank provided a EUR 20 mln loan to boost the country's cotton industry.
