E Kazakhstan reports reduction of maternal mortality

UST KAMENOGORSK. KAZINFORM The healthcare organizations of the East Kazakhstan region completed the first stage of realization of the Salamatty Kazakhstan program. Head of the healthcare department of the region Vadim Ovsyannikov told about the results of the work done.

According to him, a package of measures adopted let reduce the maternal mortality rates by 33%, infant death by 19%, deaths from cardiovascular diseases by 5%, and cancer death by 3,6%. He also drew attention to cancer diseases noting that the situation has improved. 80% of all cancer cases were detected at early stage that contributed to more efficient treatment of the patients. Another highlight is reduction of TB morbidity by 12,4%.
