EVENTS

1991 - The Commonwealth of Independent States was established by Belarus, Russia and Ukraine as an interstate union. The Treaty on the CIS establishment signed December 8, 1991 in Minsk stated the dissolution of the USSR and the signatory countries expressed their aspiration to develop political, economic, humanitarian, cultural etc. cooperation Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan joined the Treaty on December 21, 1991.

1992 - The National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan was established. The Academy uniting more than 20 scientific-production centers actively participated in establishment and development of technological parks across Kazakhstan. Its subsidiaries and branches closely cooperate with industrial enterprises in regions.

2009 - Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan was opened in Japanese city of Osaka. The goal of the Consulate is to strengthen the trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and Japan.

2010 - Documentary film The Nomad of the Universe was premiered. The film is devoted to pilot - cosmonaut, Hero of Russia and People's Hero of Kazakhstan (Khalyk Kakharmany) , Chairman of the National Space Agency Talgat Mussabayev.

2010 - Works by Kazakhstani artists and sculptors were auctioned for the first time at Christie's in New York.

2011 - President of Kazakhstan - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Nursultan Nazarbayev inaugurated a new building of Zhas Ulan Republican School named after General S.Nurmagambetov.

2012 - New Concert Hall ‘Tilep - Kobyz Sarayi' was opened on the left bank of Astana. The unique project was initiated by Sapar Iskakov, direct descendant (fifth generation), of great Kobyz player Tilep Aspantaiuly.

2014 - Medical Diagnostics Centre at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was opened.

2015 - Mausoleum of Yeskeldi Bi (1695-1770), grandson of Tole Bi, was opened after reconstruction in Karatal district of Almaty region.

2016 - The European Commission has excluded all Kazakh airline companies from the Blacklist of Unsafe Air Carriers.

2017 - A ceremony of presenting the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan's "Zhomart Zhan" badge was held in Astana. The badge is awarded as a public recognition and encouragement of the citizens for their merits in the development of philanthropic and charity activities.
