The Artists Union of Karaganda was established on December 27, 1964. A building for the Union was erected back in 1968 and remains the headquarters of the organization until this day.

A jubilee medal was instituted on this day in 2005 to honor the citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreigners who greatly contributed to the development of Kazakhstan's parliamentary system and to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

A monument to the People's Artist of the USSR and composer Gaziza Zhubanova was installed at the square in front of the regional philharmonic hall in Aktobe city on December 27 in 2007. Authors of the monument are sculptors Zhadiger Kenbai, Marat Gabdrakhmanov and Akhmet Kubai.

The Gumilyov Eurasian National University inked a memorandum of scientific cooperation with the Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing on December 27, 2010. The memorandum was signed to facilitate cooperation in students exchange, arrange internships and practical training between the two tertiary institutions.

Members of Kazakhstan's expedition to the South Pole planted the national flag on December 27 in 2011. It took members of the polar expedition eight days to get to the South Pole and five days to get back. It was quite a challenge for the expedition due to freezing temperature of -47°C, piercing wind, zero visibility and the worst cyclone in 15 years. Afterwards, they presented the flag and an exemplar of the Constitution which traveled with them to the southernmost point of the planet to then akim (mayor) of Astana city Imangali Tasmagambetov.

The Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Astana fetched the nomination The Best Enterprise providing services of the Altyn Sapa Presidential Prize on December 27, 2012. The Altyn Sapa is the Kazakhstani analogue of the Deming Prize, the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and the European Quality Award. Established in 2006, the award is synonymous with the seal of excellence in the sphere of services, including educational ones.

Azia Avto car assembly plant was named the Best Producer in Kazakhstan in the nomination The Best Product the same year.

On this day in 2014, the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced the contest with a lucrative prize - the Islamic Financing Scholarship amounting to KZT 1 million. The team of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University claimed the first place in the contest.

Kazakhstan opened a department of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan at the military educational institution - the Military Institute of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the first time on December 27, 2016.

Kazakhstan's national youth team claimed silver at the International Boxing Tournament in memory of Azerbaijani boxer Abbas Agalarov in Baku the same day. The tournament gathered over 160 athletes aged 17-18 from 18 countries of the world, including Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia, Georgia and Israel.
