In 1944, Abai opera was staged on the Kazakh Academic Opera and Ballet Theater for the first time. It is an opera in two acts, created by Latif Khamidi and Akhmet Zhubanov, on a libretto of Mukhtar Auezov, inspired by a slice of the life of the poet Abai Qunanbaiuli (1845-1904). In 1958, the opera was shown in Moscow. It had got over the footlights in Berlin and Dresden (1986).

The Law "On Marriage and Family" was issued in 1998. It establishes and regulates marriage and family relations in the Republic of Kazakhstan, ensuring the protection of the rights and interests of the family, determining its development as a priority of the national social policy of Kazakhstan.

In 2002, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev was conferred an honorary doctor's degree by Peking University. Accepting the award, the Head of State said that he takes it "as a sign of the Chinese people's respect for the Kazakh people and the Republic of Kazakhstan".

In 2004, the residence of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was officially opened in Astana. Making a speech at the opening ceremony, President Nursultan Nazarbayev announced the name of the new building as "Akorda". The total area of the building is 36 720 sqm. The building was constructed using white marble and granite produced in Kazakhstan. The height of the building including the spire is 80 meters.

In 2009, President Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the opening of Hospital No. 2 of Astana. This multi-purpose hospital for 360 patients provides highly competent medical care for the adult population of the city of Astana. It has therapeutics, heart disease, rheumatology, neurology, and pulmonology profile departments.

The same day the Consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran was officially opened in Aktau. The Consulate in Aktau promotes the development of friendly relations, trade, and economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as simplifies the procedure for issuing entry documents.

In 2010, rare publications of "Zhas Turkistan" and "Sholpan" magazines, which were issued in Paris, Berlin, and Tashkent, were published as one edition in Astana. The first and second volumes included the materials of "Sholpan" magazine, while the third and fourth ones were dedicated to "Zhas Turkistan", which had never been reprinted or translated before.

Alma-Atinskaya metro station was officially opened in the Brateyevo district, Moscow, in 2012. It is a southern terminus station of the Zamoskvoretskaya Line. The metro station has a unique architectural appearance as its vestibule is decorated with a panoramic stained-glass window depicting an apple tree against the background of the mountains of Almaty city. In addition, the way across two exits of the station was made using paving blocks with the Kazakh ethnic ornament on.

In 2013, the first facility of the ground infrastructure of the High-Precision Satellite Navigation System of the Republic of Kazakhstan appeared in the port of Aktau. The information provided by the marine local differential station will be used in marine navigation, hydrographic, research and other works in the Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian Sea.

In 2016, the American edition of El Paso Times published the year's rankings of the best pound-for-pound boxers. Kazakhstan's Gennady ‘GGG' Golovkin, a holder of the unified WBA, WBC, IBF, and IBO middleweight titles, topped the rankings.
