CSTO Leaders adopted final Declaration

MOSCOW. May 15. KAZINFORM "Heads of State of the CSTO member countries debated issues concerning further strengthening of the collective security measures," Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev told the enlarged-attendance meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council.  

The restricted-attendance session participants shared views on pressing global and regional security issues.

"We have debated further strengthening of collective security measures, including threats and security challenges counteraction, first of all, coming from Afghanistan. Besides, we discussed situation in the Middle East, Western Asia and Northern Africa, Syria events and Iranian nuclear programme situation," the President told.

Nursultan Nazarbayev said that following the results of the meeting the presidents adopted the Declaration of the CSTO member countries reflecting possible aspects of international security concerning CSTO security and assessing the Organization's activity for the past period of cooperation.
