CSTO full-fledged organization, important component of cooperation in CIS

NSK. October 27. KAZINFORM The Collective Security Treaty Organization is a full-fledged organization and is an important component of interaction between countries in the post-Soviet space, said Boris Gryzlov, Chairman of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, after a session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council in Minsk on 26 October.

Boris Gryzlov said they had discussed important matters such as results of the informal summit of the CSTO heads of state. Among other things matters concerning the counteraction of terrorism, illegal migration, and spread of drugs were discussed. The CSTO is a body that can put a stop to all these threats, stressed Boris Gryzlov.

"We have learned how to work within the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly and we now work together. It is very important. We discuss our stance in advance and can protect our common interests," said the Chairman of the State Duma of Russia. He also mentioned that a while ago the common efforts of the CSTO states blocked anti-Belarus issues raised within the OSCE framework.

Accoridng to BelTA, Boris Gryzlov stressed the united efforts of the parliamentary delegations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states will continue allowing resolving many issues effectively in the future.
