CRRF equipment program to be submitted to CSTO presidents in December

MIR. June 2. KAZINFORM The program on equipping the Collective Rapid Response Forces (CRRF) is expected to be coordinated by the Collective Security Council and submitted to the CSTO presidents in December 2011, CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha told media after the 21st session of the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils on 1 June.

According to BelTA, Nikolai Bordyuzha has noted that the program is of special interest and is connected with the provision of the forces with the latest equipment and hardware.

Today's session focused on the most important issues concerning the current situation in the CSTO region and beyond its borders. According to Nikolai Bordyuzha, this gives grounds for action to neutralize relevant challenges and threats.

No less interesting, according to Nikolai Bordyuzha, was the discussion of the recent business game, which revealed some challenges. The CSTO Secretary General said that they should be addressed to ensure more efficient operation of the organization.

In turn, chairman of the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Leonid Maltsev said that the meeting was very productive and dynamic. He stressed that urgent and challenging issues were raised. The meeting participants adopted decisions that fully comply with the concept of the national security of Belarus and also the national interests of maintaining stability in different regions.
