Construction of Almaty belt highway to start in 2014 - Minister Zhumagaliyev

ASTANA. October 21. KAZINFORM Construction of the grand Almaty belt highway is set to start next year, Minister of Transport and Communications Askar Zhumagaliyev of Kazakhstan told a press briefing of the Central Communications Service under the President of Kazakhstan on Monday.

"This project is to be implemented based chiefly on the private investments. The tender is believed to be held in December 2013 and construction will commence next year," Minister Zhumagaliyev informed.

According to the Kazakh Ministry of Transport and Communications, the 65.5-long belt highway worth $750 million is to be commissioned tentatively in 2017.
