ASTANA. January 31. KAZINFORM. /Muratbek Makulbekov/ "The Constitutional Council recognizes the amendments to the Constitution on extension of terms of the President of Kazakhstan through referendum to disaccord the Constitution," Chairman of the Constitutional Council Igor Rogov said.

The Constitutional Council resolved to declare the Law on amendments to the Constitution of Kazakhstan, adopted by the Parliament on January 14, 2010 out of line with the Constitution.

"In line with the constitution, the President has the right to file an objection against a Constitutional Council's decision within a month. Thus, the last word on the referendum rests with the Head of State," he added.
