CAREC realized above 100 projects for several years, World Bank

ASTANA. April 25. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ "During the few last years the Conference of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) has realized above 100 projects worth USD 50 bln," Simon Croxton, Natural Resources Specialist at World Bank, told today at the Astana sub-regional seminar on CAREC-2020.

"The World Bank is pleasantly surprised by what the CAREC has done for the last few years," Mr Croxton said. "Currently it is crucial to specify the CAREC work plan so the organization could help the member states more efficiently to negotiate difficulties which may arise in the years to come. The draft CAREC work plan 2020 is basically agreed by the member states. The action plan will be discussed at a greater length during the Astana workshop," he went on.
