BOLEKEY KHAN

Bolekey Yeralyuly (the date of birth is unknown -1808) - a sultan, khan of Small Zhuz. He was a grandson of Abilkhair-khan, son of Yeraly khan.

About 4 thousand families of Shomekey Clan were under his power, living in the lower reach of Syr-Darya and along Yrgyz River, and also Kara-Kalpaks, living on the shore of Zhandariya river.

In 1770 under support of the power groups Bolekey Yeralyuly became a khan of Khiva instead of Zhangir (Zhakhanger), Kayyp-khan's son.

But under Amir Muhammad Amin Bolekey khan pressure he was expelled from Khiva.

In 1780 Bolekey Yeralyuly became a khan of Shomekey Clan of Small Shuz and the major part of Kara-Kalpaks.
