Belarus, Kazakhstan to continue active political cooperation

MINSK. February 23. KAZINFORM. Belarus and Kazakhstan have agreed to continue active political all-round dialogue both on a bilateral basis and within multilateral integration forums and alliances.

The sides coordinated these issues during ministerial consultations in Astana on 22 February, BelTA learnt from the press service of Belarus' Foreign Ministry.

The Belarusian delegation at the consultations was headed by First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Igor Petrishenko. The Kazakh side was led by his counterpart Konstantin Zhigalov.

The sides have thoroughly discussed the whole range of bilateral ties and cooperation on the international arena. The Belarusian and Kazakh officials shared their opinions on the topical issues of the regional agenda and coordinated their outlooks on the further development of Belarus-Kazakhstan relations and measures to expand the ministerial interaction. A plan of cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries for 2011-2012 was signed.

The sides also focused on the further expansion of regional cooperation between Belarus and Kazakhstan, and committed to intensify the bilateral interaction in culture, science and technologies.

Igor Petrishenko also paid a visit to the Astana office of the International Business Alliance. The IBA is one of the leading Belarusian IT designers and suppliers. The company implements a series of projects in Kazakhstan.
