Beijing Summit appoints new SCO Secretary General

BEIJING. June 7. KAZINFORM The Shanghai Cooperation Organization leaders made a decision to designate former governor of Irkutsk region of the Russian Federation Dmitry Mezentsev Secretary General of the organization in 2013-2015.

The Beijing Summit participants also stressed the importance of cooperation within the SCO in provision of the international information security and agreed to facilitate the development of rules of conduct in ensuring the international security under the UN patronage.

The SCO member countries will also continue to develop multilateral financial and economic cooperation in the region.
